Intrinsic Bet

We work beneath another sky
Inside our own private party
We are shielded from,
Bound to
Our irrevocable construct

Just another mindless effort
To hide our own insufficient dreams
Our insufficient hopes, goals, skills
Our insufficient lungs, kidneys, hearts

For it the channels stop
For it the acids join in

And, in dire consequence, our acidic lives
Subdue on, spreading, embracing
Their last alcaline haven
All around, taken by our created atmosfere
Fades, weaks, crumbles.
Every plant, every mosquito, cries,
For their blinded eyes will never again see their loving partner
Their bodies will never again touch
Never feel
Never sweat
Never moan
Never again, together.
